Startups from Finland: Fruugo - backed by Nokia’s ex-CEO and the founder of F-Secure
Fruugo is a new Finnish startup that has something to do with e-commerce. The list of people involved is very impressive. They include Nokia’s ex-CEO and Chairman Jorma Ollila and F-Secure founder and CEO Risto Siilasmaa among others. The biggest investor is Washington DC based Queensway Developments LLC.
Fruugo will begin its operations from the beginning of January. The only thing that can be said about what they are doing is that they are working with e-commerce - developing an online shopping platform and apparently they will do hosting as well. Their home page only sports this very web2.0 image that has clearly something to do with e-commerce:

Seriously: I hope that Fruugo has something to do with innovation marketplaces and intermediaries. (Like: InnoCentive, FellowForce, Tynax). If that is the, please, let me know.
For fun: The logo comes definitely from Finnish sauna tradition. Why? Because the logo is like a bowl (löylykiulu) for water. Water is tossed on stones of the sauna stove (kiuas) to get steam. I like that logo. Still, I might misinterpret its purpose
Cheers
