Fruugo: What Does 1L + 1M + 1P = ? Stand For?
I’ve been thinking about the equation on Fruugo’s home page (see my earlier post). Wikipedia didn’t help. So I went into buzzword compliant -mode and came up with these explanations:
- L = Location, because location-based mobile services are always the next big thing, or it could be
- Language
- Long tail
- Low-hanging fruit
- M = Mobile, because Fruugo is a Finnish company or
- Management
- Marketplace
- Mash-up. What are we mashing up? L&P guess.
- Meme. Probably not, it’s impossible to build a lasting business model on a meme.
- Methodology
- Metrics
- Monetization
- P = Platform as they should be building one. Or it could stand for
- Permission as in Permission Marketing by Seth Godin.
- Personalization
- Place as in the age-old 4P’s of marketing
- Portal. No, it can’t be, that’s so 90’s.
- Profile
- Prosumer
I ended up with the following equation:
- 1 Long tail + 1 Mashup + 1 Platform = Platform for mashing-up the long tail.
That probably doesn’t quite solve the equation, does it?
