Ponoko: Personal Manufacturing Made Easy
Ponoko is a great new service from a company of the same name that makes personal manufacturing easy for (almost) anyone. It was one of the companies presented at Techcrunch40. You download their templates in .eps format, create your design, upload the file to the site and they will cut your chosen material into the form you wanted. I’ll have to give it a go and see if I can finally start desinging my own furniture. The site also makes it possible to sell the stuff you’ve designed, so maybe that could be the way to my own company….
